The Oxford professor Tariq Ramadan is in the news again—this time unwillingly. Two women accused Ramadan of sexual assault. In both cases, they indicated Ramadan assaulted them after academic conferences in Paris and Lyon. The second woman to come forward claims Ramadan (whom she idolized) asked to meet her at the bar of the Hilton hotel. He then lured her to his room on the pretense that people recognized him and were staring. Out of public view, he violently assaulted her. Ramadan has been taken into custody and story continues to unfold as of this writing.

As an intellectual, I never thought much of Ramadan. As is often the case with the faithful, he hypocritically sees what he wants to see in the study of history.
