While my main interest is in satirizing the “religion of the desert”, I must occasionally relent and offer the True Believers respite so that I might take a break and ridicule another ridiculous cult. Today, I have chosen the Amish. I did so for the simple reason that they do not view technology as it should be viewed: a progression of innovation, theoretically, without end. Instead, they choose to (more-or-less) draw a line in the sand. By this they assert the ludicrous notion that we, as a species, perhaps had just the right amount of technology about two hundred years ago. For this arbitrary and completely illogical choice, they have earned the wrath of my ridicule.
